Arsenal have £20m Championship duo Eberechi Eze and Said Benrahma ‘on their radar’
Aug 04, 2020

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has Championship duo Eberechi Eze and Said Benrahma on his radar this summer, it is claimed.

The Gunners are likely to be working on a reduced budget this transfer window, despite their £25million windfall from making it into the Europa League.

Big names like Willian, Philippe Coutinho, and Thomas Partey are all being linked with a move but checking out the talent operating in the Championship could be the way to go.

England’s second tier is improving all the time and is arguably now regarded as the most competitive league in the world.

Arteta is looking to add some much-needed steel to his squad for the new campaign as the Gunners look to make up ground on the Premier League elite and the second tier is full of talent.

Brentford star Benrahma is being widely tipped for a move to the Premier League next season, whatever happens in tomorrow’s play-off final.

The winger has been impressive once again for the Bees this season and has been instrumental in their push for Championship promotion.

The 24-year-old starred as his team narrowly missed out on automatic promotion but will be looking to impress against Fulham in the play-off final at Wembley on Tuesday.

He now looks set to make the step up with or without the Bees and recorded 17 goals and nine assists in 43 league games in the regular season.

Benrahma has also been linked with Chelsea, West Ham and Leeds United, who all could make their moves when the transfer window opens.

Another name being mentioned as a possible signing for Arteta is QPR star Eze, who has excelled in a struggling team this term.

QPR rate the winger at something close to £20m but he could be available for less than that this summer.

His 14 goals and eight assists in 46 Championship games for the mid-table side has not gone unnoticed.

Crystal Palace have had an offer of ‘significantly less’ than £20m rejected by QPR, while West Brom and West Ham are also being linked.

According to football.london , Arsenal are monitoring both players with a view to making a move this summer.

It is vital that Arteta gets his recruitment right this summer if Arsenal are serious about closing the gap to the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners finished a massive 43 points behind title winners Liverpool last season and 10 points off the top four.
