Chelsea to sign talented striker Emanuel Emegha from partner club Strasbourg in 2026
Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign 22-year-old Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg in 2026 as they look for striker options.
The 22-year-old has been linked with Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Everton over the past few months but now he has committed his future to The Blues. 0
This summer, Chelsea completed the signings of strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, while Nicolas Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan in what has been an attacking switch-up from manager Enzo Maresca.0
Emegha, who will sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, is said to be one of the biggest reasons that Maresca did not replace the injured Delap who will be out for several months. Reports state that Strasbourg and their manager Liam Rosenior convinced BlueCo and Chelsea to allow him to stay for another season.0
The Athletic report that Emegha was spoken to and was assured that he’d be better off staying one more year and developing at Strasbourg before moving elsewhere. Chelsea also recalled Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland which was another factor in snapping up Emegha in a deal set to be complete next year.0
Chelsea confirmed the deal with a short statement on the club website:0
“Chelsea Football Club has agreed a deal to sign striker Emmanuel Emegha from Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, with the Dutchman officially joining in 2026.0
“Emegha, 22, scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, earning him recognition as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe.”0
The highly-rated striker is a Netherlands youth international but is yet to earn his first senior call-up but he is certainly one of the best upcoming forward’s in Europe and Chelsea’s breeding ground of talent will only allow him to improve.0
